Who can benefit from JAM's clothing?
Everyone benefits from universal design. We covered this in our blog. However, when we design our products we consider many different dressing needs. This includes but is not limited to:
- People with physical disability (including wheelchair users or someone with limb difference).
- People with fine motor difficulties (including those who have had a stroke or have arthritis).
- People with intellectual disability who may find the sequencing of dressing difficult.
- People with sensory needs such as someone who is Autistic who may find seams or tags irritating.
- People with chronic pain or chronic fatigue who need to conserve their energy or pain threshold for more meaningful tasks outside of dressing
If you are wondering whether our products would benefit you, please reach out to us by emailing us at hello@jamthelabel.com
What is Adaptive Clothing?
Our products are adapted to include those with disability, which means all of our items have design features that make it easier for someone to get dressed or wear the clothing more comfortably. This category of fashion is often referred to as 'Adaptive Clothing'. Read more about this in our blog here.
I have questions about the design features of your clothes
Some of the design features on our Adaptive Clothing are subtle, so to find out more information please look at the design features on each product page under the main product images. For more information have a look at our design features. If you still have questions we love to have a chat, so feel free to send us an email at hello@jamthelabel.com
How do I know what size I am?
Each of our products has their own unique sizing so please make sure you refer to the size guide on each individual product page before choosing your size.
I want to try JAM’s products on before purchasing, how can I do this?
Although at the moment we don't have a dedicated JAM store, we are currently sold at Fisher Lane Mobility in Melbourne and Novita Tech in Adelaide where you can test and try the products in-person. For more information details see here.
What are your bundles?
We've created bundles of our products so the more you buy, the more you save. We have bundles for those that are just wanting to expand their JAM wardrobes, as well as bundles that are specific to dressing needs. For more info see our buy and save page.
NDIS
Can I purchase your items through my NDIS package?
You sure can! JAM's Adaptive Clothing items are considered 'low-cost assistive technology' by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). All of our products have design features that assist in the act of dressing, increasing independence and participation in this daily activity. For more information head to our NDIS info page.
How do I purchase your items through my NDIS package?
It is super simple for self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants to purchase our products using their low-cost or consumables budget. You can either purchase our products online like normal and reimburse yourself, or we have an invoice builder on our NDIS page where once filled out, we will send the invoice directly to you or your plan manager for payment.
When writing a supporting letter to purchase Adaptive Clothing through the NDIS, what information should I include?
The best person to provide a supporting letter for utilising NDIS funds to purchase Adaptive Clothing is an allied health worker such as your Occupational Therapist who has a good understanding of your NDIS goals and how dressing can impact your functioning. As our design features can be subtle, sometimes it isn't clear exactly what they are, on our design features page you can see a breakdown of all the designs, so you or your supporting therapist has a better understanding of what it is you are purchasing and how it can support your dressing.
Ordering
How do pre-order items work?
If an item is for pre-order, this will be listed in the title and an approximate time of delivery will be in the item description. If the item is going to be delayed, the team at JAM will be in contact with you. Otherwise, sit back and relax you’ve scored yourself a JAM item before they sell out.
Does JAM sell gift cards?
We sure do! Please see the 'JAM the label gift card' product, which is listed under 'shop' in our main menu, or click the link here
How do I know what size I am?
Each of our products has their own unique sizing so please make sure you refer to the size guide on each individual product page before choosing your size.

I work in a disability-related workplace, how do I get the founders of JAM to present to us about Adaptive Clothing?
As JAM was founded by two Occupational Therapists and Disability Support Workers working in the disability sector, we are wanting to share our knowledge with our fellow workers in the disability space.
Our items, which are categorised as low cost assistive technology under the NDIS, have design features that make it easier for someone to get dressed, or wear our items more comfortably.
We’re reaching out to Occupational Therapists, Support Coordinators and other professionals working in the disability sector to offer a free PD opportunity to learn more about adaptive fashion and how this can assist NDIS participants with dressing. As OTs ourselves, we know that professionals are always looking for exciting new ways to support their clients and this is why we’re offering an in-person visit to sites across Victoria to provide a hands-on learning experience.
We also offer virtual information sessions for teams who this is more appropriate for.
Please send us an email to hello@jamthelabel.com with an expression of interest, so we can discuss the next steps of booking you in.

Why are you called JAM?
JAM was inspired by working as disability support workers with two of our favourite clients, Jack and Maddie - hence the name JAM! Want to get to know our story even more? Check out 'The JAM story'.
What are JAM's sustainability practises?
Whilst JAM is a small business, we are committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible, and continuing to improve our sustainability practices as we grow. Currently, you will find all of the packaging that your JAM orders arrive in to be fully compostable (even the labels!). We also have Airrobe available as an option with all of our products, which means our clothing items can be rented, re-sold or recycled via Airrobe. We strive to use environmentally-friendly fabrics when possible, and are constantly learning about how our manufacturing processes can be more sustainable. We look forward to learning more and evolving as a brand in this area.
